About the teacher
Richard N. has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, and a Bachelor of Education. He is a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers. Generally, students call him Dr. Newcombe. Dr. Newcombe has 12 years of experience teaching high school science, math, physics and chemistry, in Hamilton, Ontario, at an international school in Guangzhou, China, and in Windsor, Ontario. Before that he worked as a research scientist in university and industrial settings. He is excited about sharing his knowledge, experience and understanding of science with students. Teaching priorities include helping students develop some life skills that they need to succeed: good study habits, critical thinking and research skills, and clear communication.
